Insomnia is beneficial

I'm coming off of day three (i think) of a creative bender wherein I did not leave my apartment and was completely indulgent. I would call it a vacation from life, but it now dawns on me, that this is my life. What started this was a bout of insomnia that reversed my sleep schedule a few days ago. I stayed up all night working and then was forced out of a much needed sleep with a visit from my brother and his fiancee. Somewhere in the day mentioned in my last post, I decided that sleep is for suckers and work is for chumps and made a pact with myself to only have fun from now on (a notion which I'm sure will dissipate the second any kind of real responsibility lands on me again). The important thing is that amongst all the movies and video games and sketching and drawing and tea (so much tea) I had fun. It's good to know that I'm still capable of entertaining myself with my passions.

over christmas break from school i lived by the motto: "there's time for sleep when you're dead" which is morbid and strange but i got a lot done and i had time to do things i had been meaning to do and get things done for myself.

i was completely selfish for about a week. i did things for myself for the first time in forever.

so the moral of this is: i agree! insomnia is beneficial.
